| Bruce Kern named Region 15 DIII Baseball Player of the Year |
The 2008 Region 15 DIII Baseball All Region team was released yesterday with Sophomore Pitcher Bruce Kern of Suffolk Selden being named the top vote getter and the Region 15 MVP. Bruce put together a record of 5-2 for the season with a 1.20 ERA and 68 strikeouts in 45 innings pitched. He was followed in the voting by fellow pitcher Nick Galioto of Suffolk Grant who finished the regular season with a record of 4-0 and an ERA of 1.93. Shortstop Luis Herrera of Queensborough was named Defensive Player of the Year. Below are the 1st and 2nd team honorees along with the All Defensive team/Gold Glove nominees.
